Prohibition of flight – Isle of Man Registered Aircraft in Russia and Belarus

With effect from 12:00 UTC 18 March 2022, under legal powers provided by the Aviation Security Act 1982 as applied to the Isle of Man, the following measures are in effect for all Isle of Man registered aircraft:

An operator of an aircraft registered in the Isle of Man must not cause or permit any such aircraft to enter the territory and airspace of the Russian Federation or Belarus. This does not apply:

  • to the operator of an aircraft that is flying with the permission of the Isle of Man Civil Aviation Administration; or
  • where a failure to enter the territory and airspace of the Russian Federation or Belarus would endanger the lives of persons on board an aircraft or the safety of an aircraft in flight.
