What is the Registration Process?

We have published a Checklist for Registering Aircraft in the Isle of Man in Registry Publication 1. This document details the process from start to finish with links to all the documents you may need. A brief overview can be found below:

 

Large and turbojet aircraft on the M-Reg have any one of the following characteristics:

  1. MTOM greater than 5700kg;
  2. One or more turbojet engines;
  3. Seating for more than 9 passengers

Please follow this list of document submissions to complete the process. Firstly, if you have a preferred Registration mark, and it is available* submit a Form 1 Online Application for Out of Sequence Aircraft Registration Mark, then submit the following;

  • Form 2 Application for Registration of Aircraft along with: Certificate of Incorporation, List of Company Directors and a Power of Attorney (if required);
  • Form 20 Operator and FOR Contact Information;

At this point the 24 Bit Address will be issued for the aircraft.

  • Form 3 Application for CofA; 

At this point the aircraft survey booking arrangements are confirmed.

  • Export C of A from previous State of Registry; 
  • Form 4 Application for Operating Approvals;
  • Form 91 Application for Approvals of an EFB (if required);
  • Form 5 Application for Radio Licence;
  • Form 6 Application for FCL Validation;
  • Form 7 AME validation application (if applicable);
  • Form 15 MMEL 90 Day Permission Application (if MEL not ready for approval);
  • Form 8 Minimum Equipment List (MEL) Permission Application;
  • Form 100 AMP Approval Application;
  • Form 31 Airworthiness Contact Information
  • Aircraft Insurance;
  • Form 37 ELT/PLB Registration;
  • Bill of Sale;
  • Deregistration from the previous State of Registry;

The following are pre-requisite items for the aircraft CoA survey:

  • ELT/PLB Programming
  • Mode S Transponder
  • Registration Marks
  • Fireproof Plate
  • Radio Call-Sign Decals
  • Operational and Emergency Equipment

Once the survey has been conducted an the surveyor has recommended the aircraft for it's CoA, IOMAR will issue the Certificate of Registration and Certificate of Airworthiness in digital format.

Note: Operators of large and turbojet aircraft are required to have the following:

  1. Fatigue Risk Management Programme
  2. Journey Log
  3. Company Operations Manual and Crew Checklists.

complete an online reservation request. If an out-of-sequence request is not received the next in sequence registration mark will be allocated.
